WasteSavvy achieves safecontractor accreditation for 2nd year-running

The Epsom based firm recently received their second year of accreditation from SAFEcontractor, a programme which recognises very high standards of health and safety practise amongst UK contractors.

WasteSavvy, specialise in the removal of waste from domestic and commercial sectors. Our most recent clients have included major players such as British Heart Foundation, Barnardos, The King Clinic, & Ryman’s.

The company’s application for SAFEcontractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business. SAFEcontractor accreditation is expected to enhance the company’s ability to attract new contracts and its commitment to safety will be viewed positively by its insurers when the company liability policy is up for renewal.

John Kinge, Head of Risk at SAFEcontractor said, "Major organisations can no longer run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies". "More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that WasteSavvy has done. The firm’s high standard has set an example, which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector". Under the SAFEcontractor system, businesses undergo a vetting process, which examines health and safety procedures and their track record for safe practice. Those companies meeting the high standard are included on a database, which is accessible to registered users only via a website, www.safecontractor.com

WasteSavvy Take Delivery Off Their Roll On Roll Off bins

We are delighted to announce the arrival of our new roll on roll off Savvy Bins.

We know our customers are always looking at ways to save money on their waste removal projects and you love to recycle. So with that in mind we looked at the idea of introducing a recycling bin hire service whereby you the customer benefit from segregating your waste. Segregated waste is cheaper to dispose of so we pass on that saving to you.

We contacted Giles skips waste container and skip manufacturer of Birmingham telling them of our plans, after a brief conversation outlining our needs, we were invited up to their factory for a tour. Geoff & Dave, Father  & Son of Giles Skips have many years’ experience in manufacturing skips & containers. So it wasn’t long before we came up with a bin with great features, such as rear doors, a comfortable loading height and importantly being 10ft long, enough room to accommodate the larger items like three piece suites wardrobes beds etc.

The Savvy bin is for general household light or bulky waste, we don’t hire them out for brick rubble, soil, plaster board or builders debris of any kind.

We offer great discounts on clean segregated waste such as:  Green Waste, Metal, Wood, Paper and Cardboard.

In the future we hope to introduce the Savvy enclosed twin compartments general/recycling bins for our commercial clients.

Our general household waste bin hire prices are very competitive, compared like for like on a skip.

Please call for further details on this or any other services we provide.

WasteSavvy awarded Waste Awareness Certificate

WasteSavvy are very pleased to have been awarded a waste awareness certificate, we believe that this is testament to our on-going recycling practices and will optimise our service that we provide to our customers.

Waste management is a fundamental environmental issue that needs tackling by all organisations regardless of size or sector. The Waste Awareness Certificate (WAC) provides a perfect foundation course for waste management.

Accredited by the CIWM, this course is designed for all who are involved in waste management, handling, disposal or training as part of their work practices. The course enables delegates to understand the key factors relating to waste legislation, waste minimisation, disposal techniques and waste auditing.

Handling your organisation's waste effectively can help to improve environmental performance and often reduce costs.
